The Warrap State government in collaboration with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan organized a workshop on the role of women in peace building which was expected to start today on Thursday.

Santino Manut, a journalist in Warrap, told Radio Tamazuj that about 30 women are likely to participate in the workshop organized by UNMISS and the state Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare.

Women representing Tonj South and North Counties as well as women from the organized forces will also participate in the workshop.

The workshop aims at capacity-building for women and creates awareness among the women on the importance of peace among the communities, according to the South Sudanese journalist.
