Western Equatoria official suspected of embezzlement

A case has been filed against an official in Western Equatoria State on suspicion of stealing funds set aside for civil service salaries in the state.

Teachers in the three payams Lozu, Lakamadi and Lui went unpaid for the month of March after the funds went missing.

Mundri East County Commissioner January Jonny Sebit said that a court will decide whether to try a county cashier who is suspected of stealing 31,000 pounds.

He said the county education director could also be brought before a court for directing the unauthorized cashier to bring the salaries.
