Western Bahr el-Ghazal State Assembly in its sitting yesterday summoned the state Care-taker Minister of Finance Zachariah Joseph to appear before it. 

The assembly has also ordered an audit of state revenues.

Ali Delil, a member of Western Bahr el Ghazal State Legislative Assembly, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that the finance official was summoned due to a delay of salaries across the state.

“The caretaker minister responded the summons, also answered some questions related to financial matters but did not answer all the questions asked by the members,” said the lawmaker.

A special committee within the assembly has been formed in order to audit all internal revenues as well as address the financial crisis in the state.
