The West Kordofan State Legislative Assembly has formed a committee to follow-up on the establishment of a new radio station and rehabilitation of the existing radio in El Fula town.

On Sunday the State Minister of Information and Culture Asia El Dukhri presented a report to the assembly on the ministry's semi-annual performance in 2014.

The report showed the absence of media houses and limited coverage of the Fula Radio.

In a press statement, the speaker El Serif Mohamed Ibad said the ad hoc committee was tasked to solicit support for the purchase of transmitters and other devices for a new radio station in order to cover the whole state.

He pointed out that the committee will also look for a mechanism that will coordinate with daily newspapers in order to publish all the activities carried out in the state.
