West Kordofan hosting thousands of refugees

The Humanitarian Aid Commission in Sudan’s West Kordofan state has announced that they distributed aid assistance to over 16,000 South Sudanese refugees who are currently living in the state.

The commission said it is helping the conflict-affected people in collaboration with the World Food Program (WFP).

In a press statement yesterday, the head of the humanitarian aid commission in the state Rahma Azaz stated the refugees were being treated like Sudanese nationals according to directives of the presidency.

The official further said there is full coordination with international partners to help the affected people with basic needs.

The aid commissioner pointed out that the refugees will also be engaged in agricultural activities so that become producers during their stay in the area.
