Video: Highlights of the US Senate hearing on South Sudan

The United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a hearing on the situation in South Sudan on Thursday in Washington, during which the Committee Chairman Bob Corker criticized the South Sudanese government for interfering with humanitarian aid.

The Senate is the upper house of the US legislature, which controls spending for US relief aid, embassies, military, and other programmes. During the hearing the committee heard testimony from US Special Envoy Donald Booth and other officials.
