YUSUF BATIL CAMP - 13 Dec 2014

Vaccination campaign finished at Yusuf Batil camp

At least 21,000 children have been vaccinated against several diseases in Yusuf Batil refugee camp following a campaign carried out by the aid organization Medair.

The campaign against measles and other diseases concluded on Friday, according to a spokesperson for the group.

About 21,000 children were vaccinated against polio and measles, while all children aged 6-59 months were also screened for malnutrition. Vitamin A supplements and Albendazole for intestinal worms were also given.

The camp houses people from Blue Nile State who fled conflict between SPLA-North and the Sudanese government. The war there has been ongoing since 2011.
