Unity officials to transport displaced Nuer from N. Bahr el Ghazal

A delegation of Unity state government has arrived in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state where they discussed issues pertaining to conflict-displaced households in the state.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, the Unity State Security Advisor John Malok said that they intend to transport all IDPs from Unity state who sought refuge in Northern Bahr el Ghazal due to the fighting to their areas of origin.

The official further said they agreed to transport them via Juba to Bentiu.

Malok claimed that the majority of internally displaced families were driven by lack of food inside the Bentiu UN base.

He commended the Northern Bahr el Ghazal government for hosting IDPs from Bentiu and predicted the repatriation will be completed by early November.

Last week, twenty internal displaced person from Nuer tribe were reported to have left the UNMISS camp, crossing to Aweil via Meriam at the Sudan border.

The IDPS were received by the Northern Bahr el Ghazal Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and offered food.
