Torrential rains kill one person in South Darfur

At least one citizen has died after heavy rains collapsed his house at Buram Locality in Sudan’s South Darfur state last week.

A source told Radio Tamazuj Sunday that several houses collapsed from the storms, resulting in the death of one person and dozens of households affected.

In a press statement, the Buram Locality Commissioner Mohamed Fadul further said citizens incurred losses worth 3 million SDG and that many cattle died.

He said the affected people are living in open areas without food and shelter, while requesting the Humanitarian Aid Commission and other organizations to provide them with aid assistance.
