Thousands of Jonglei displaced living in difficult circumstances

More than 20,000 people who fled intermittent violence in Pigi, Jonglei state, are now seeking refuge in Upper Nile state. Some of the displaced complain they are living in deplorable circumstances and lack food and basic services.

Pigi County Commissioner Ibrahim Dau told Radio Tamazuj that citizens from six payams are currently living in the displacement sites in Panyikang county in Upper Nile state.

Dau said they are desperately in need of assistance from aid agencies, including food and basic health services, or the situation would continue to deteriorate.
