Teachers in the Doro refugee camp in South Sudan’s Maban complain about a shortage of school materials, the long distances  between the camp and the schools, as well as what they term “the strict policies” by the Save the Children organisation.

A teacher at El Nur School explained that they are being overlooked in matters concerning education. He added that the well experienced educationists are not consulted by the organisation, “even on the technical issues”.

 “We are faced with problems as our schools lack books and other educational materials, besides long distances we have to travel to the schools”, the teacher outlined.

The organisation also forces the teachers to be present at the schools from 7am to 5pm, he added.
