Police at Wunrok Payam in northern Warrap State have arrested a man in connection with a rape committed in the area at Jokngok last Friday.

The police are still investigating the case and the victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to the payam deputy police inspector, Juac Ajuong, there have been several similar cases over the last two months.

“There are a lot of criminal cases in the area because five related issues happened over the last two months. Adult men raped two small girls. The four people were imprisoned at Ayien Abiel Prison Area. Again the similar issue has occurred again,” he said.

Juac Ajuong asked Wunrok chiefs to take steps to reduce the incidence of rape in the area.
