Sudanese VP calls for more efforts to curb crime in South Darfur

Sudanese Vice President Hasabo Mohammed Abdul Rahman was briefed on the security situation by South Darfur Governor Adam Mahmoud Jar El Nabi on Sunday.

In a press statement, Jar Al-Nabi said that the meeting was about the security measures taken by the state government recently, saying he briefed the vice president on the positive outcomes of the security plan.

Al-Nabi said the measures resulted in the arrest of a considerable number of criminals, while emphasizing the need to continue the plan, adding that the move contributed toward the restoration of peace across the state.

“The vice president has called for exerting more efforts to curb insecurity in South Darfur State,” he stated.

Over the weekend, a security patrol unit seized four vehicles loaded with large quantities of guns and ammunition as well as illegal drugs at a checkpoint in the capital Nyala.
