Sudan’s opposition NCF calls for peace in South Sudan

Sudan’s National Consensus Forces (NCF) have called for peace in South Sudan though a comprehensive dialogue between all political parties and members of civil society organizations.

The opposition coalition made this call after a briefing by a visiting delegation of the South Sudanese Communist Party to Khartoum, where the South Sudanese opposition representatives met their Sudanese opposition counterparts.

In a press statement yesterday, the National Consensus Forces said their general assembly listened to a comprehensive report presented on what is happening in South Sudan by the visiting delegation.

They jointly appealed to the main parties to the conflict to allow provision of relief and other urgent humanitarian assistance to the internally displaced persons and refugees, especially those who fled to Sudan.

Sudanese opposition representatives also called upon the Sudanese people especially residents of border states to provide all the assistance needed to the South Sudanese refugees.

The two political entities also urged all the international aid agencies to provide assistance to the needy people.
