Sudan’s Central Bank receives oil transit money

Sudan’s Central Bank has disclosed that it has received dues for the crude oil transit fees from the South Sudan government. The Sudanese officials confirmed that the money has been transferred to its account in Khartoum.

Azhari Alteib Al-Faki, an assistant to the Governor of Sudan’s Central Bank confirmed that South Sudan has deposited Khartoum’s dues.

Al-Faki, who is also the official spokesman of the Sudan’s Central Bank, revealed that the Sudanese government is now preparing to receive a new shipment.

The official noted that “the payment will continue according to what was agreed upon by the two countries.”

The Central Bank will inject foreign currency to the banks in order to meet the needs of the market”, Al-Fakisaid.
