Sudan: Doctors visit SPLA-N prisoners in Khartoum

A medical team coming from abroad has visited the SPLA-N detainees who were transferred to the Huda Prison in the capital Khartoum in order to inspect the detainees’ health conditions.

The SPLA-N members detained in connection with the Blue Nile events in September 2011 have been complaining about deteriorating health conditions in the prison.

Taban Garang, a South Sudanese national and one of the convicts, told Radio Tamazuj that a medical delegation from abroad came to visit them in the prison recently.

Garang noted the administration of the Huda Prison allowed the detainees to go for medical checkups.

He further revealed the administration accepted to transfer some of the convicts complaining of abdominal problems to a specialist, while the diabetics were put on a waiting list, which prompted grumbling about the delay.
