Sudan’s ruling party calls on al-Mahdi to return to the country (Sudan Tribune, 27 Nov.) – NCP has called on Umma party leader Sadig al-Mahdi to return to Sudan. He has spent several months in exile after signing the Paris Declaration with SRF rebels, and on Saturday he arrived in Ethiopia for more talks with the rebels.

South Sudan parliament funds: ‘Who has taken 3 million?’ (Radio Tamazuj, 26 Nov.) – MP Zacharia Matur Makuer says he will not apologize to the Speaker of the Assembly for raising questions about 3 million SSP that he says is not accounted for.

'More than 150 killed' in West Kordofan tribal clash (Radio Dabanga, 28 Nov.) – Two clans of Misseriya Arabs have fought seriously in Sudan’s most productive oil state.

Kiir to try again to pass his security bill (Radio Tamazuj, 27 Nov.) – South Sudan’s president may try again next month to win passage of his draft national security bill, after repeated attempts last month to secure a vote on the bill with the requisite quorum.

S Sudan state TV director slams information minister (Radio Tamazuj, 27 Nov.) – Minister of Information Michael Makuei remains at odds with Khamis Abdulatif, whom he has tried to oust from his post as directive of state-run TV and radio.
