SPLM-IO say they'll arrive in Juba Friday

The advance team of the delegation of SPLM-In Opposition is expected to be in Juba on Friday, according to a timetable announced by the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC).

SPLM-IO spokesperson Manawa Peter Gatkuoth said a one hundred and fifty person advance team will arrive in Juba on Friday in order for them to attend a meetings of the JMEC, which is meant to oversee the implementation of South Sudan's peace deal.

Manawa said they received a JMEC statement on Wednesday which includes a timetable on the implementation of the peace deal.

“All in all, we have received the statement yesterday. Now an agreement had been reached to send an advance team of 150 delegates to Juba. They are supposed to reach Juba yesterday, but we received the letter late, so the necessary arrangements didn’t complete yesterday. Now we are expecting them to reach Juba tomorrow," he said.

He said the 150 members are split into three groups to attend three meetings on 18, 21, and 28 December.
