SPLA-N ‘captures two areas in Blue Nile State’

A source has confirmed that confrontations have erupted between the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Army North (SPLA-N) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in Khor Al Budi and Bashir Nogo areas in Blue Nile State of Sudan, when the rebels allegedly ambushed the SAF forces.

The spokesman of the SPLA-N, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi told Radio Tamazuj that their forces managed to capture Dokan and Al Shombo areas. He also explained that the clashes took place when the SPLA-N laid an ambush to the SAF patrol between Khor Al Budi and Bashir Nogo area on 20 August.

The spokesman noted that they have captured three machine guns, three boxes of ammunition as well as large quantities of supplies and medicine in Al Shombo area.

Four SPLA-N soldiers were reportedly killed and other four wounded, whereas “14 SAF elements” were also killed in the battle.
