The north Sudanese rebel group SPLA-N has accused Hawazma tribal militia allied to the Sudanese government of attacking a village in South Kordofan on 13 March.

At least three children were killed and three others wounded in an attack by assailants in Um Shoran village in South Kordofan’s Buram Locality, according to the spokesman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army North, Arno Ngutulu Lodi.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, he accused the Sudanese Armed Forces and its allied militias specifically the Hawazma Arab nomadic tribe of carrying out the attack.

He noted the attack was on a cattle camp in Jamasa area, resulting in the killing of Khamis Hassan Al Min (13), Babiker Khalifa Kuwa (11) and Kuku Ibrahim (14).

Three others, Kabin Kaen Kuchi (16), Kuwa Braima (12) and Amsala Kuwa (9) have been wounded. About 38 head of cattle were raided by the assailants, according to the same source.

In a separate incident, criminals carried out an offensive on another cattle camp in Um Guli village in Dalami Locality on 17 March, the SPLA-N spokesman said.

“In that attack at least three citizens including children were confirmed killed and two others wounded,” he said, accusing the national government in Khartoum of violations of human rights and targeted killings against the Nuba people.
