Local farmers at El Tayara farms in Sudan’s southern White Nile state said this year’s agriculture production has been affected by shortages of farm workers and increasing costs of agricultural production in the state.

Several farmers told Radio Tamazuj that the problem will definitely affect this year’s agricultural season.

They further said most of the agricultural projects in the area were affected due to the lack of farm workers.

In October, farmers in neighbouring Sennar state also complained about the shortage of South Sudanese farm workers in the state due to the presence of South Sudanese SPLM-IO troops in the area.
