Sennar returnees report lack of basic services

Sudanese nomads who have gone to Sennar State after leaving grazing lands in South Sudan report shortages of water, basic services and lack of education.

Recently, the Sennar governor identified Kokari and Turus villages, which are about 40 kilometres from Abu Hajar Locality, as the resettlement sites for the returned pastoralists following fighting that erupted in Upper Nile.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Thursday, the Rufaa Al Hawa tribal leader Yusuf Abu Rouf accused the government of neglecting returnees at Dali and Mazmum areas.

The paramount chief called on humanitarian organizations to provide services to the returnees in their areas.
