Lakes State Military Caretaker Governor Matur Chut Dhuol said they have deployed security forces within the state to maintain order during Christmas time.

“We make all the steps of security to allow our communities to make sure they conclude 2014 in good faith,” Matur said

He said the two MPS detained two months ago are held at an undisclosed location in Yirol County being investigated by authorities.

Marik Nanga Marik, the Rumbek North County MP, and Isaac Makur Buoc Apac, the MP from Rumbek East County, were detained on October 24.

Matur accused them of inciting violence against organized forces in Lake State. The caretaker governor alleged that Marik ordered his brother to lead those who shot at the forces.

Matur said they will continue investigations until all those involved in the incident are arrested.

He asked Lakes communities to forgive one another as new year approaches.
