Secondary student allegedly shot dead by policeman in Kajo-Keji

Kajo-Keji County Spokesperson Beden Elikana says that a policeman shot dead an 18-year old student on Sunday night. The policeman who allegedly shot the boy is in prison for investigations.

The policeman was apprehended on Monday morning, according to the county official. “He has been put into the jail waiting for investigation. But when I went there, the police declined to speak to me,” said Beden.

The county official said the student was killed on his way home from a disco. He was further quoted by Eye Radio as saying, “this happened when they picked a quarrel with the police and then the police decided to shoot him dead.”

The slain boy has been identified as 18 year-old Vincent Micheal Lagu, a student at Metu Senior Secondary School.
