S Sudanese newspaper resumes publication after long closure

The management of the Nation Mirror Newspaper has announced re-opening of the paper after nearly eight months since it was ordered to cease circulation.

South Sudanese National Security Service ordered in February 2015, the closure of the paper until further notice. The agency had complaints about a number of stories published by the paper, but the management denied any bias or favor saying that it was doing its normal journalistic work with no intention to favor a particular group.

The Editor in Chief of the Nation Mirror, Wol Atak Deng confirmed on Thursday the reopening of the paper and said it was a result of several negotiations with the government and the national security.
