RSS not prepared for Secondary School Certificate – Sudan Undersecretary for Education

Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, Undersecretary of Sudan’s Ministry of General Education has claimed that South Sudan has not fulfilled requirements for its pupils to sit the upcoming Sudan Secondary certificate examinations in March.

Ahmed told Sudan news agencies that there was an agreement between their ministry and their Juba counterpart to process and mark examinations and issue certificates mutually for a period of 3 years.

However, he claims that while the agreement was fully implemented last year, authorities in South Sudan haven’t yet followed agreed procedures this year.

The Undersecretary confirmed that general preparations for the exams, which will take place between March 23rd and April 3rd across the country as well as in examinations centres outside too, are going well otherwise. All, he claimed, have handed over 2013 lists of students sitting the Sudan secondary examinations.
