Relief reaches flood victims in South Sudan’s Warrap

Approximately 120 tonnes of food items, medicines and tents have been allocated by the South Sudanese government for the flood victims in Warrap state.

The State Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Benjamin Yak, told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that large amounts of humanitarian relief items have been sent from Juba to Warrap State in order support the flood-stricken people, particularly in Gogrial East County.

He added that a number of relief items may be transported by a UN helicopter because of the poor conditions of the roads in the areas.

Yak reaffirmed that an inspection team comprising of the State Health and Education Ministries and Relief and Rehabilitation Commission as well as representatives of some international organizations will arrive in Gogrial East today to acquaint themselves with the humanitarian situation in the aggrieved county.
