Sudan’s president said on Sunday at a reception with his justice minister Mohamed Bushara Dosa that justice is the basis for governance in Sudan. He has directed the minister to expand activities of the institutions affiliated to the justice ministry.

“President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, affirmed that justice is the basis for governance in Sudan,” reported the state news agency SUNA.

The president reportedly directed the Minister of Justice to “empower and expand the institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Justice for expanding justice and the rule of law,” according to SUNA.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice reported that he has provided the president with a report on the performance of his ministry.

Separately, it is expected that Bashir will deliver a televised address on Wednesday evening on the occasion of Sudan’s 59th independence day anniversary.
