Power cuts hit Kadugli, South Kordofan

Kadugli Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan has been experiencing electrical blackouts due to malfunction of generators.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, several citizens expressed their discontent about fluctuating power supply and blackouts which they said had lasted for six days.

“The power is not stable at all. Sometimes we spend the whole day without electricity, it often comes at 12:00 a.m.,” one citizen said

They further said the problem has negatively affected food items in refrigerators and students who are in need of light for studies.

A source in Kadugli says the town has about three power generators, some of which however are damaged and lack spare parts for repairs.
