South Sudan’s National Alliance of Political Parties is ready to sign the proposed peace deal today, the representative of the group said.

“We have accepted the proposal because Khartoum has diagnosed the problem of South Sudan. The problem was the SPLM party and now they have been given power in the presidency, so I think it will bring peace to our people,”Kornelio Kon Ngu, head of the national alliance group, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday evening.

Kon, who is also a deputy minister in Juba, pointed out that the South Sudan National Alliance of Political Parties will sign the proposed peace deal without reservations.

The proposed power sharing deal calls for creation of five vice presidents in the unity government. The new proposal maintains the controversial 32 states until an Independent Boundaries Commission determines the number of states.

The draft agreement also proposes 35 ministries and 550 members of parliament.
