Police station attacked in West Kordofan town

An unidentified armed group attacked yesterday morning the Muglad police station in the western part of South Kordofan, causing injuries to six policemen who are currently under medical treatment in the local hospital.

Independent sources from Muglad confirmed the incident, but they were not sure of the identity of the attackers.

In a separate incident in the same area, robbers on motorcycles last Thursday attacked Zatna Company for Roads and Bridges Construction, a company linked to the Sudanese military.

One Land cruiser vehicle and some electronic devices were destroyed in the attack on the company base about one kilometer from Muglad town on the road toward Meiram.

“The gunmen attacked Zatna Company for roads and bridges construction, a company owned by the Sudan Armed Forces which is constructing the Abu Jabra-Meiram road. The company is located on the highway,” a source who preferred anonymity stated.

Reportedly the company has announced open leave for its workers.
