Northern Bahr el Ghazal MP Baak Lual Bol dies

Baak Lual Bol, a senior member of the Northern Bahr el Ghazal state parliament, passed away in Khartoum last Friday.

Baak died of kidney failure and his body has been taken to Aweil State Mosque for prayers before transferral to his home rural in Aweil North County for burial.

Baak held many positions in the state government under the Sudanese government. He served as minister of health from 1998-2003, minister of social development from 2003-2005, minister of local government from 2008-2009, and minister of information from 2009-2010 before his election as member of Northern Bahr el Ghazal parliament.

The Government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State announced a 3 day public holiday in respect to the late MP.

State parliament speaker Isaac Makau Ayok acknowlged Baak's role in delivering services to the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state. He said the assembly and the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal have lost a great man and his name should be remembered for all time.
