Northern Bahr el Ghazal’s Caretaker Governor Kuel Aguer Kuel appointed five state advisors and a cabinet affairs minister Wednesday by decree.

Two of the state ministers are women: Mary Ayat Unguench, who becomes an advisor for girls education and Ayak Zecheria Ngor, the new advisor for women’s development. Women living in the state had complained that they were previously not well represented in Kuel’s cabinet.

Achol William Amuoi has been named minister of cabinet affairs. Santo Ayuel Akuei was appointed state advisor for sport, Deng Dhieu Nyuela is the advisor for local government and Joseph Garang Chan is the advisor for urban water.
