Newly established Vertet county of GPAA lacks basic services

The newly established Vertet Country of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) is lacking basic services including health clinics, schools, drugs and county administrative offices, according to the newly appointed commissioner.

Speaking on Radio Tamazuj's regular programme 'With the Commissioner', James Aleyi said that his county is newly established and lacks many things.

“We don’t have any budget and this is our big issue but next month the budget is said to be released, and once we receive it we will able to start establishing our offices and open schools.”

James noted that there is a shortage of drugs and there are no medical facilities in the county.

Vertet is one of the newly established counties in Greater Pibor Administrative Area bordering Pibor and Gumruk counties. Pibor Administrative Area used to be a county under Jonglei State.
