Lutheran church demolished in Khartoum

Authorities in Khartoum have demolished a church building in Hai Thura Block 29 after attempts by the church to stop the demolition failed, sources told Radio Tamazuj.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a bulldozer demolished a church building shared by both the Sudanese Lutheran Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

According to the sources, authorities of Karari Locality carried out the demolition claiming the church was built on land allocated for a proposed marketplace.
