At least 19 people were confirmed dead and 25 people wounded during inter-clan revenge clashes in Cueibet County over the weekend.

State authorities confirmed the clashes between the two payams of Pagor and Abriu of Cueibet County. He said the dead come from both sides.

According to Lake State Minister of Information and Communications Dhieu Wal, the fighting was between members of the Pagok and Pathiong clans.

The minister said a person from Abriu was reported to have been killed by a person from Pagor in 2012, so people from Abriu decided to take revenge.

Wal said the fighting lasted for two days on Thursday and Friday. He said the situations is calm now because security agencies have been deployed in the area by the State government.
