Land port launched in Blue Nile’s Roseires Locality

The state government of Sudan’s Blue Nile has launched a land port yesterday in Roseires Locality at a cost of 2 million SDG.

The state government considered the facility as part of the projects undertaken by the reconstruction committee recently set up by Sudanese President Omer Al Bashir.

This comes after the Democratic Unionist Party in Blue Nile State and the Union of Funj North and South requested the national government to restore security in the state’s war-affected localities before initiating new development projects in the state.

In his remarks to the press on Wednesday, the Governor of Blue Nile State Hussein Yasin said physical infrastructure, electrical projects and roads are the 'top priorities’ in his administration.

Yasin promised more projects to be implemented soon including paving internal roads in the state.

For his part, the Roseires Locality Commissioner Khalid Hassan said the port will support the transport sector in the state.  The launch of the land port is one of the major development projects in Blue Nile State, according to the Commissioner.
