Lakes State: Two people killed at Nyangkot village

Armed attackers killed two people at Nyangkot village in Rumbek Central County, according to the County Commissioner Mawet Manuer.

He was quoted by the UN Radio Miraya as saying a “gang of looters” shot dead one person at a farm and another man who came to rescue the other victim.

The commissioner said the attackers were four in number. The village is reportedly about 6 km from Rumbek.

Sudan Tribune also reported on the incident in an article today, quoting an area police officer as saying ‘inter-clan clashes’ between Rup and Nyang sections erupted at Nyangkot.

“Two people from Nyang section were killed by suspected attackers from Rup, but we have not yet capture anyone involved in this incident,” said the police officer, who was not identified by name.
