Lakes state minister says he doesn’t know why he was sacked

Marik Nanga Marik, who was removed from his position as Minister of Information and Communications in South Sudan’s Lakes State on 31 July, says he does not know the reason.

Caretaker Governor Matur Chut Dhuol decreed the minister’s removal without explanation.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, Marik said he did know the reasons for his dismissal, addinghe heard the gubernatorial decree via local media like any local resident.

“I didn’t know the reasons for my dismissal from office by the caretaker governor, because he did not tell me beforehand that I would be sacked,” he said.

“For my part, I did not go to ask him about the reasons for my dismissal,” he added.
