Lakes governor calls for calm after chief’s assassination

Lakes State Governor Matur Chut Dhuol called for calm and restraint from his own family and clansmen following the assassination of his brother, the Paramount Chief Apereer Chut Dhuol.

As reported by Good News Radio, he said during the burial of Chief Apereer that the assassination was an individual crime, urging his family not to take the law into their hands, but allow authorities to apprehend the criminal.

The governor used the opportunity to remind citizens of Lakes State to surrender guns to the army and that the cause of many deaths in the state was due to the misuse of guns by unauthorized people.

Apareer Chut was assassinated at his home on Tuesday evening by an unknown gunman.
