Sudan’s rapporteur of the Joint Security Mechanism (JSM) between Sudan and South Sudan said that the recent JSM meeting in Khartoum faced challenges and setbacks, especially in regard to temporary ‘Zero Line’ on the border between the two countries.

In a press statement to the Dubai-based Ashrooq TV on Thursday, El Moiz disclosed that the JSM meeting had recommended an ‘urgent meeting’ to be convened as soon as possible in order to discuss the issue in the presence of the African Union High Implementation Panel (AUHIP).

The proposed meeting will pave the way to resolve the outstanding issues, according to the Sudanese official.
