Jonglei State Information Minister Jody Jonglei has confirmed the state governor’s decision dismissing two commissioners of Bor and Duk counties.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Jody said the governor sacked Bor County’s Agot Alier and Duk County’s Elijah Mochnom Wuor with effect from 18 November.

He further said the government has not yet appointed their successors due to consultations with the local communities in the two counties.

“The removal of officials is a normal changing in the government,” he said.

Meanwhile, Wuor told Radio Tamazuj that he was never informed by the governor about the decision, describing it as normal changing.

He said he has not yet received a letter of his dismissal, saying he only heard of his removal via local media.
