Heavy rains hit the contested territory of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan over the weekend. Several citizens told Radio Tamazuj that several houses and properties were destroyed on Saturday and Sunday.

They further said the rains blocked some roads in the area. The complaining citizens pointed out that if such rainfall continues it could cut the Abyei-Aniet road.
