Home of Yei Bishop robbed

Armed men looted the home of the Bishop Hillary Adeba in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State Monday night.

The burglary took place at around 10:00 in the evening. One laptop computer and a Land Cruiser hardtop truck with five doors were stolen among other properties.

Silvano Ali, Deputy Mayor of Yei River County, told Radio Tamazuj that a group of suspects was arrested this morning at a place called Bungu on the way to Juba.

“We have not received the exact figure of those who were arrested because the policemen are yet to confirmed the number,” Ali said.

Ali said Bishop Adeba informed him that some of the burglars were wearing SPLA uniforms while others wore civilian clothes. The Bishop identified some of the criminals as members of his own ethnic group, Ali added.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach Bishop Adeba due to poor network service.
