High market prices in capital of Blue Nile state

Citizens in Sudan’s Blue Nile state said that prices of consumer goods and vegetables are rising at Damazin market.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several local residents complained about soaring prices of commodities these days.

A jerrycan of cooking oil rose to 590 SDG, a small bushel of sorghum is 120 SDG, while a kilogram of beef increased to 40 SDG, one trader said.

He said that a kilogram of mutton rose to 60 SDG, while a kilogram of fish costs 35 SDG.

Citizens expressed concern about the possibility of further increase of prices as Eid al-Adha is approaching.
