Heavy rains destroyed 11 houses in Tambura County of Tambura State last week, an official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Tambura State minister for Physical Infrastructure Richard Danzanga confirmed the damage. He said his ministry has teamed up with development partners to respond to the matter.

At least two people, the minister said, were injured in the incident.

Richard urged aid agencies to support those displaced by heavy rains.

This is the second time such heavy rains have affected communities in Tambura County this year, according to Danzanga.
