Eight women die of malaria in SPLA-N territory in Blue Nile

Malaria and malnutrition in SPLA-N controlled Kurmuk in Sudan’s Blue Nile killed eight pregnant women in late August, according to a local doctor.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Monday, Dr Hassan Juma complained about a poor maternal healthcare and spread of miscarriage cases among pregnant women. He also said that their areas are hepatitis E free.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a report that as of 17 September a total of 84 hepatitis E cases with three deaths have been reported in the area of Madina 10 in Geissan.
