Sudanese refugees who are currently living in Boro Medina camp in South Sudan’s far northwest complain of food shortages and poor health services. The refugees have lived in the camp in Raja County of Western Bahr al Ghazal for several years.

Isaac Abdullah, an information officer at the camp told Radio Tamazuj that on 28 March a team from World Food Programme visited them to assess their humanitarian situation.

He noted the organization urged them to concentrate on cultivation until food and the other services are provided by the humanitarian organizations. The refugees were experiencing shortages of farm tools and seeds said the official.

“The rainy season will definitely cut off the roads connecting the camp with the other areas amid absence of essential services and humanitarian aid,” he said.

“Cases of malnutrition have been recorded inside the camp – in January over four children died of malnutrition,” he claimed.
