Cooking gas distributors protest in Kosti town

Several cooking gas distributors in Kosti town in Sudan’s White Nile state staged protests over the launch of direct sale centres of cooking gas in the town.

The furious distributors accused those centres of causing cooking gas crisis and soaring prices of cooking gas for several months. They called upon the relevant authorities to allow the authorized dealers to take over instead of the direct cooking gas stations.

The protestors pointed out that the distribution centres previously used to buy one cylinder from the authorized dealers for 38 SDG and sell it to citizens for 40 SDG.

But ‘direct sale’ centres now sell a cylinder to shop owners, barbers and grocers for 30 SDG who for their part will sell it to citizens for 75 SDG.
