Complains of harassment by S Sudan police at Boro Medina camp

Sudanese refugees currently living at Boro Medina camp in Western Bahr el Ghazal’s Raja County are complaining about insecurity and harassment by the South Sudanese police in markets and on the streets.

“We need refugee cards so that we can be differentiated from the other Sudanese traders here in area because we are facing many challenges with the police authorities especially when a refugee wants to travel for treatment to Wau and other areas,” one refugee told Radio Tamazuj.

He said that refugees at Boro Medina camp have not yet been issued refugees cards. They called upon the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to process their cards as soon as possible so that they avoid harassment.
